So...Where are we going as a guild?
Whats going on? Is everyone leaving the server? Are people just spending tons of time on alts?
I'm not trying to stir up trouble but every guild event lately has had no one really show up. Is it a recruitment issue with specific classes?
I understand that it is the holidays and people are busy(esp those in retail, I feel for ya) but I just kinda wanted an update on where the guild is going and what people want to do.
I personally would love 2 nights a week for 2-3 hours that we do PvE. Would help gear us all up for stronger RvR showings and would promote more guild unity.

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
From my gaming experience, this time of the year is very slow on MMORPGS. People travel to meet family members, are busy making preparations and so on. That said i also would like to know what are we aiming for.
I havent seen much people on , and even on aliance chat folks sounds as they have given up. For 3 days in a row i tryed to make an RVR group without sucess. I am game for any activity and should be online more often this days.

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
3 days ago the majority of T4 order was in ORvR pushing everything...
The next day we all successfully held the destro zerg out of altdorf (or the same day.. my days are off due to late nights)...
Last night we were successfully defending the HE fort...
People have been running warpblade and crypts and getting teh lootz...
AND it's the holidays...
Exactly what server have you been playing on, dude?

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
People running, as in who? I am on all the time and I never see anything going down that anyone but alliance leaders and so on are doing. Not exactly open invites when they already have the groups made.
I log in for guild events that are scheduled and whoa none of them ever seem to actually happen, maybe they did on the week I was out of power and I just didn't see. Pick up ORvR Warband zergs are not exactly what I had in mind.
As I stated it IS the holidays and I understand that. I'm not trying to point fingers or be a jerk, I just want to know where things are leading in the future.
Thanks for the sarcasm, Frey, in response to a post that was meant to bring some dialog on the direction the guild is headed. You know what server I have been on, I'm on all day typically. I'm not on lately in the evenings unless there is an event scheduled at which point I make sure I'm not engaged in something else, but it becomes frustrating when you set time aside and things don't happen.
I was hoping that perhaps we would talk about things to come, like in Jan, after all the holidays.
Edit: I didn't mean to sound militant toward you Frey, I've had a blast contending with horrible traffic and idiots that can't drive in snow.

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
I will be the first to put it out there. This time of year is very slow for events. A lot of people are out of of town and it is hard to run warband in house events without key jobs, ranks or gear.
Where the guild is going... Hmm... I plan on picking up our two night a week events again after the start of the new year. The Protectorate will still remain as the type of guild it was originally intended to be. Mainly, a casual but respected place for our members with non-mandatory RvR and PvE events. You should all be very proud of where we are today. I know Solomon and I are. The Protectorate is mentioned many times on the WAR Alliance forum. We might be small, but the skill of our members and the type of model we set for ourselves and our fellow Order on Monolith is noted time and time again. We are spoken high of even among the larger guilds of our server including The Tribe, Fallout and South of Heaven. I think this in itself speaks monumental success for we are one of the only surviving guilds on Monolith since launch, and being the small group we are, these larger guilds find it important to include us during their ORvR plans.
I apologize if you have not felt like you have been included in events that have been run recently, Meri. The city dungeons for sentinel gear are locked in 6-man groups so it it is hard to pick and choose members when our healers and tanks are limited. On top of that, not all of our tanks have the appropriate wards or ranks to go down and successfully tank a run. I am not pointing a finger at our tanks or blaming them one second because of this. It is just a poor mechanic for a game along its PvE content. I think it is dumb personally that we have to pull people out of an event because of this.
As for alliance leader only groups, that is not entirely true. I open the event for what jobs & gear are required for the run. It just happens that 4 of our guild's alliance leads are healers with warding gear, so majority of the time they are auto-included in the runs due to this.
As for alts. I know Pale Moon has been running majority of their time on their alts on Skull Throne. The population imbalance is demoralizing with Destro farming our Fortresses every day. I still have my fingers crossed that Mythic will do something to remedy the unmonitored transfers from months ago. As it stands right now on Monolith, Order will not see the end game RvR content WAR is about. Because of this, many people have quit, moved on or taking a break.
Give us a few more weeks to get our wheels rolling again. We are gearing Tremain, Leno & Lotharic so once they hit 40 they will be able to join us for Crypts or Warpblade tunnels so we can include more of our DPS on our dungeon runs. Along with the Sentinel runs, I will continue to do pick up Bastion Stair runs for lesser warding gear for our members who do not have any.
Thank you for voicing your concerns, Meri. I hope what I said was able to lend you the confidence in our guild that we will continue to be strong.
So get ready for 2009 Protectorate!

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
Thanks Rhyas, that was exactly the type of response I was looking for.
The guild leader thing is just my perception. I guess its more like "friend groups" sometimes, it just always seems like its the same people all the time. I understand this is mostly my perception. I do see that most of the "core" classes seem appeal to guild leaders so they don't have to rely on inconsistent people. Its much easier to grab dps than it is a tank/healer so I guess this should be expected.
If we really need a good tank, or more tanks, I could possibly roll one. I'd prefer to stick to one toon(dps is so much less stressful), but if it is in the best interest of everyone I maaaaaay be persuaded to . I have main tanked in several games in high end pve content.(omg Naxx pita)
I don't really feel excluded necessarily I'd just really like to see a lot more going on so that everyone in the alliance can make gear progress. Being outnumbered sucks in RvR - being out-geared is even worse!
I'm looking forward to '09 and kicking some serious tail in the coming months! =)

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
Me and Sarcasm are like this (X), son!
Seriously though, I agree with Rhyas. Our mission statement for the guild has been true to this day and I'm sure we plan to keep it that way. As far as the alliance leader runs goes, most of those runs haven't been planned. From the ones that I've been to and seen going down they've been one guild in the alliance starting up and then grabbing a few other members and the first ones to jump in went along. Don't be afraid to speak up to our leaders (like you did here, no one hates you for it lol.) we're not going to gkick anyone and the alliance leaders can't even kick you if they wanted to. If you see a run going down in /a just stick your foot in the door and request to tag along. Crypts and Tunnels will still probably be tight for dps for awhile.
For the planned events I'll talk it over with the officers, but I feel like we should use the sign-up system in the guild calendar and when it's full lock it down. So say we have a crypts run and we want 2dps, 2healer, 2tanks. When those 6 people have signed up, the leader can accept them and call it a run. If they don't show then we'll figure out some sort of "dock" since we don't run on points.
On top of that I think we should make it a note to use the forums for signup as well to better keep track of who's running over and over and who's not getting in.
Ideas, Ideas...
For further clarity, the OP was misread in my head. It sounded like there was some whine with the cheese and I apologize if I came off as an ass... well I'm always an ass, but you get my point.
Happy Holidays, watch out for deer.

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
Haha, that sounds like a very good plan for events in the future Frey.
After re-reading I guess I could see a bit of whine in there - or at least that it could be construed that way .
Thanks for the thoughtful response. Again to Rhyas too =).

Good to hear!
Knat and I have been MIA lately for a few different reasons, chief among them was a bad bios load on my mother board.... damn ASUS boards. At this time I have loaded a new motherboard (YAY!!!FASTER RAM AND CPU!) but honestly there is not a lot of motivation with how sparse the online roster has been lately. I love the game but playing it solo is worse than any other MMO I have played to date. I personally would like to see some more events planned just so I might be able to make some. At this stage in the game I do one of two things, play every waking hour or play once a week, and honestly if I am paying for this the numbers guy in my head demands I "get the most for my entertainment dollar". That being said if more things are schedule/ more people log on we will definitely be on more if not... well I am big fan of CIV.. hehe. I hope to see you guys online!

Re: So...Where are we going as a guild?
Theres been non stop pvp action going on every single night for the past few weeks. Even if the guild isnt doing anything its not hard to get into a warband doing keep takes, i've been doing it by myself since not many people seem to be online. Its not a lot of exp but the rr and inf flow like water. P.S. if you like CIV and have civ 4 + the expansion try the fall from heaven mod, i guarantee you will never play vanilla civ again.
